Are Mobile Phones Making Men Infertile?

May 26, 2011

Couples who have been trying to start a family without success should suspect the amount of time the man is using his mobile phone.

According to a new study, heavy mobile phone use seems to lower sperm quality and affect fertility.

Researchers from the medical University of Graz in Austria, who made the discovery, think that the phones’ electromagnetic waves interfere with the production of sperm production and fertility by lowering levels of luteinizing hormone, which is secreted by the pituitary gland in the brain.

If you have been trying for a baby for some time, a pre-conception of fertility health check for both partners may help identify the reason why.  It could be a simple lifestyle issue such as the use of a mobile phone as mentioned above, or a nutrient imbalance from an inadequate diet.  A variety of health checks and fertility tests are available at http://www.pulsescreening.co.uk/assessments.html
